(Sep. 7) - Yep, I'm terrible at finishing...
I'm sorry to say it, but it looks like I won't be finishing Solar Plexus, at least not in this iteration. I base this on the fact I haven't opened the file to work on it for what is now exactly a year.

I really regret doing it too, as I like the idea a lot, and had a whole lot of different "purple blocks" already made, but it's not my kind of game to work on. I really hated working on every aspect of it, I'm not sure why. I think it's the chore of building so many levels meticulously, whereas an action game like Noitu Love 2 has much more varied designs that constantly change and keep me motivated. I often go too big, and this game isn't really in the genre I'd play, were it not my own game. it would probably have fared better did I not make it on my own, too!
I will upload what I have for people to play. I might remake it all someday, but I wouldn't go back to an aged engine made in a different program by now. I'll still leave Solar Plexus in "Projects" for now.

Now, I have other projects and ideas I've been working on. I often go too big though... But I'd like to ask you guys to drop a comment anyway telling me what you'd like to see!
Thanks, and again, sorry...
EDIT: Please listen, people: I don't hate the game, I hated working on it. That makes a big difference.

(Hm, there aren't specific sessions for comments on each game, so I'll just put some comments here and write the rest on mail:)
Your Link is BADASS, and just as effeminate as Nintendo's - well, elvishey dandy slim creatures, with curly hair and dressed like Peter Pan sound somewhat sissy, no matter how bad*ss one looks throwing bombs around and spinning swords like a maniac. Legolas has the same problem ^^'...
Oh, and excuse me for the double post, but you really should stay away from this project of yours if itsn't being a pleasure to work on it ATM, as doing things on your own pace is critical on this business... Of course you NEED to finish it someday - good projects should never go to the desk's drawer when there is iPhone, Nintendo DSi, Wii's Virtual Console and a lot MoAr space to Indie game programmers to get recognition and motivation$ to their works...
Man, you got the talent.
(PS.: Is it my impression or the 'after boss' Score screen @ noitu love is reminiscent of MD's "Street's Of Rage"? Also the musical arrange, at least on the second level... *-*~)
Artic, it's fiiiine, I was just making sure, as I wasn't positive if your comment was ironic or not.
Anyway, people on other sites have basically claimed similar things that, while meaning good, sound like I am only really meant for certain types of games, when I haven't really shown what else I can do (except Chalk, which people seem to miss)! :D
Yup, Chalk rocks a lot - I want that game on my DS sooo badly... *-*~
I love Chalk!
But yeah, I see what you mean. Well it's good that your making different types of games, all I was saying is that you dont have to work on it, because you said you didnt like working on it. I wasnt discouraging you, in fact, i'd be very happy to see this finished. PLUS you also said youve got other things going on. from my experience, making a game you dont want to make while also making other games isnt a very good idea. I once was making 5 games, i didnt like one, but i worked on it. Because of that, i hated game making for a week and gave up on all the projects. Well... maybe thats just my attention disorder. haha.
Chalk may be the most innovative game i've ever played. It's like a Wii game i've never played!
Ah what a shame but it cant be helped if you dont like working on it. A kind of game id like to see is an action game like Noitu Love 2 and Legend of Princess but with an original game mechanic like Chalk.
Yo Konjak! This game is kinda fun y'know! The graphics, music, and your heroine, are pretty stylish too. This and Chalk sure could use a soundtrack release!
I dunno, how hard would it be to just suck it up and team with someone to finish the remaining SP levels? I know the idea sounds discordant, but I think the game really only needs a total of 3 or 4 stages to wrap it up as finished. You've moved so far with this concept already, I just imagine returning to it again, with this sketch still nagging at you, or at times even overshadowing you, would be even more frustrating. Wouldn't you rather just establish creative closure with this iteration and explore your new ideas for it freshly as a sequel? I'd say it's much more reasonable here than with Ivory Springs, given the way the two games are built.
Of course, it'd be great to see you finish both games, but whatever. Just do what you gotta do man. Good luck!
You need to make an action-strategy game with simple but surprisingly deep gameplay and multiplayer.
You're welcome.
I'd REALLY like to see Ivory Springs finished or for you to build onto Legend Of Princess those two are some of my favorites of yours (Noitu Love 2 is in 3rd of course).
